Hematite

Hematite: Beautiful crystal in the agate family, almost bewildering in a sense. It seems to glow with light radiating its beauty. It reminds me of still water at night that the moonlight bounces off of.

Legend says the Egyptians used hematite for blood disorders and promote the formation of blood cells. It was known as the "blood stone" -- the water becomes red during the process of polishing the stone. It is said that it protects the vital energy and survival of the person wearing it.
Properties of hematite include: stabilizing the circulation of blood, combats embolism, regenerative for eye problems when placed on the eyelids, can promote a peaceful nights sleep when placed under the pillow with a rose quartz.
Because it was used in the Middle Ages and given to warriors going into battle hematite symbolizes courage. There are cautions with hematite and it is said to never wear it near inflammations of any kind as it can make them worse. You should never clean hematite in water but place it among rock crystals. By cleansing this way it will release negative energy and become recharged with positive.
My experience with Hematite has been only recently, while studying Crystal Healing. My husband had an area in his eye the size of a pencil tip that was very bloodshot. He had this for over 2 weeks and after reading about the healing qualities of crystals I decided to try it out for myself. I placed a hematite crystal on his eyelid everyday for 3 days. The first day the redness lessened same the second day, and by the third day his eye was no longer blood shot.
I believe that all things are created by our creator and all things carry energy, healing energy carried down form above. Crystals have been show to have a vibratory energy that can be felt if held. Crystal healing is not new it has been around since ancient times dating back to the bible. So before you think this is just new age or hippie or freaky, get a good book on crystals and experience them for yourself. Hold one in your hand for a while, open you mind and allow the healing benefits or vibrations from the crystal to show itself to you. You like me may just find yourself drawn to this ancient healing art form.
